Data Governance Applied
Yet another publication change? But for the long term future!
If you've been following this publication, you might have noticed that the name has changed—twice. So, let’s talk about why.
When I first started this Substack, I knew I wanted to write about data governance, privacy, security, and compliance, but I was also exploring how broad or niche I wanted the focus to be. As I refined my vision, it became clear that this publication needed to double down on governance—not just as a set of best practices, but as an applied discipline that affects how data is managed, secured, and activated at scale.
Why the Change?
Clarity & Commitment – A name should reflect what a publication is really about. Data governance isn’t just a side topic for me—it’s at the core of what I do. The new name aligns with that.
Bridging Theory & Practice – There’s plenty of abstract discussion about governance, but not enough on how to actually implement it. I want to bridge that gap.
An Evolving Perspective – As I refine my approach, I want this publication to be a resource for engineers, strategists, and decision-makers who need real-world solutions for governing data responsibly.
What to Expect Moving Forward
Deep dives into automation, security, and compliance – How can we use technology to streamline governance instead of treating it as an afterthought?
Exploring the intersection of governance and AI – As AI adoption grows, how do we ensure it remains ethical, accountable, and privacy-conscious?
Infrastructure & engineering best practices – From identity graphs to synthetic data and privacy-enhancing technologies, I’ll be sharing both high-level strategies and technical deep dives.
Case studies & real-world applications – Less theory, more applied governance—what works, what doesn’t, and how to implement scalable solutions.
My Commitment
This publication is now fully focused on governance-related topics—data privacy, protection, security, compliance, and everything that ensures responsible data use at scale. If that’s what you’re here for, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for being part of this journey—let’s get to work.
